Bont’s Vaypor S shoes are super-stiff yet they provide an excellent level of comfort… but you do have to stump up a whopping great wad of cash if you want to enjoy them!
How do Bont cycling shoes fit?
Like any other road cycling shoe, Bont footwear is supposed to fit very snug, like second-skin. That’s why there is a high chance that you’ll need a different size in Bont shoes compared to you regular running or street sneakers. Start by measuring your foot length and width precisely.
Do Bont shoes run small?
I’d make sure your measurements are accurate and then use the fit calculator on the Bont site to get the right fit. I have found they run short, but YMMV.
What does last length mean?
This system is based on the length of the shoe last (foot-shaped template for manufacturing shoes). Measuring the last instead of a foot is easier for shoe manufactures but makes it harded for the consumers. The inner cavity of the shoe must usually be 2/3 inch longer than the foot length.
Which cycling shoes are heat moldable?
Bont, Lake, Louis Garneau and Shimano offer heat moldable cycling shoes that can adapt to unique foot contours. These shoes have carbon fiber soles with resins making them pliable between 160-210 degrees Fahrenheit allowing for shape customization.
Can I put cleats in the oven?
The answer is No. Because Shoes these days are typically bound firmly together with glue. The oven produces a tremendous amount of heat which can make the glue compromise the adhesive properties. And this will end up damaging the design of your shoes.
How do I choose my last shoes?
As a guide we recommend buying a last that is a bit longer than your longest foot. Most people will find that their feet are different lengths but unless they are very different you can normally get away with using the same size, or slightly adjusting the length by adding some leather or shaving away some excess.
What makes the Bont vaypor T track cycling shoes so special?
The handmade 100% carbon monocoque construction of the Bont Vaypor T track cycling shoe is made for pure performance.
Why choose Bont cycling shoes?
The anatomical heel cup shaping of Bont cycling shoes provides increased stability during the pull through stage of pedaling stroke and up stroke. This stabilization is achieved without any mechanical operation or over tightening of straps/laces allowing for increased comfort and blood circulation.
How does the Bont toe protector work?
The toe protector not only protects the front area of the shoe from wheel rub and impact, but also houses ventilation holes for improving airflow through the shoe. Between the outer leather and the liner we add a material that is proprietary to Bont to stop the cycling shoe from stretching over time.
What makes Bont vaypor T’s unique?
The Vaypor T utilizes unidirectional carbon fiber allowing Bont to create a performance cycling shoe with very specific strength characteristics based on stress points in cycling. As unidirectional carbon absorbs less resin then cross weave fibers, it also assists in the weight reduction of the cycling shoes.
