Can you watch live TV on Freeview on demand?
The HbbTV version of Freeview On Demand is integrated with Freeview Live TV so you can effortlessly switch to On Demand when you’re watching any Freeview channel. To access it, just press the OK button on your remote when you’re watching Live TV to bring up the Mini Guide and select the On Demand icon on the left.
Can I watch live TV on Freeview play without aerial?
You do need an aerial to receive Freeview live on TV through the TV Guide but can also view certain channels on internet connected devices without one. The aerial needs to be securely plugged into the socket in the back of your Freeview TV or recorder.
Can I watch live TV on a smart TV?
Currently 2018/2019 Samsung Smart TV models will have access to Live TV. If your TV is an older model, unfortunately you will not have access to Live TV. For a list of other devices that you can use to watch Live TV please click here.
Why can’t I get Freeview channels?
Your aerial or aerial lead is damaged or disconnected. Your Freeview receiver could be damaged – try it on a different TV aerial (friend / family / neighbour). If it works elsewhere, it proves there’s a signal, cabling or aerial problem.
How do I get live TV on my smart TV?
Set up the Live Channels app
- On your Android TV, go to the Home screen.
- Scroll down to the “Apps” row.
- Select the Live Channels app.
- If you can’t find it, download it from the Play Store.
- Select the source you want to load channels from.
- After you load all the channels you want, select Done.
Can I watch normal TV on a smart TV?
Yes. You can watch a smart TV without an aerial but you won’t be able to access Freeview (or any other terrestrial broadcasts) and you’ll be limited to the content on your TV’s internet streaming apps.
Can you watch live TV on smart tvs?
You can use your smart TV to take advantage of these services and cut the cord, with certain limitations. There are also several free, ad-supported services that provide hours of shows, movies, and even live news and sports without a subscription.
