MPD218 Hardware Setup
- Before opening the software! Plug your MPD218 into your computer. This will automatically power it on.
- Now press the PROG SELECT button and hit PAD 5. This will put the MPD218 into MPC mode.
- This is all you need to do with the hardware to set this up to work with MPC Essentials.
How do I find my FL Studio key?
Follow these steps:
- Make sure your FLRegkey.
- Click on the Windows Start menu button.
- Choose the Run option.
- Click in the text entry field and type Regedit.exe and click the ‘OK’ button or press enter on your keyboard.
- From the registry editor File menu choose Import.
- Locate the FLRegkey.
- Click the Open button.
How do I activate the MIDI port in FL Studio?
Click Enable to activate the MIDI port. FL Studio has a virtual instrument called the FPC that is very similar to the traditional MPC workflow. The user can load their own samples to the pads and then MIDI map the pads from MPK or MPD to trigger the FPC . Strike the pad on the MPK or MPD that will be mapped to the FPC.
How do I use the MPD26 with my computer?
You can specify exactly the degree and timing of swing you want to apply for the perfect feel. The MPD26 also has MPC Full Level and MPC 16-Level on its pads. The MPD26 sends MIDI information over its plug-and-play USB interface so you can use it with your Mac or PC without installing any drivers.

The MPD26 also has traditional DIN MIDI input and output jacks so you can use it with MIDI hardware such as synths and other sound modules. The MPD26 comes with Ableton Live Lite so you can start creating right out of the box.
