The PS1000 has been an integral part of my system and I intend to keep it even tho I have placed an order for a Def Tech Prosub 200TL. The PS1000 is reliable and provides ample, good quality bass for both music and HT if placed and tweaked properly. For some genres of music it could be slow, for home theater a little boomy at times.

Should I get a ps-1000 or a PS3 V3?
I own the PS-1000 v3. It’s a bandpass design which basically means it is very loud and clean at 1 frequency and that’s about it. It’s sloppy everywhere else. If all you’re using it for is home theater and you have left and right speakers that go low enough as it is for music then I’d say go ahead with the PS-1000.
