Where is Portes du Soleil?
Les Portes du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world, and consists of 12 resorts from Lake Geneva in Switzerland through to Mont Blanc in France, including Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel and Champery.
Is Chatel good for skiing?
Chatel is great for beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some superb terrain for both expert and intermediates. Chatel has easy links to Avoriaz and the Swiss resorts Torgon and Morgins plus the whole of the Portes du Soleil. There are 49 kilometers (31 miles) of cross country ski trails at Chatel.

Are lifts open in Morzine?
The Prodains express generally runs from 07:00 to 21:00 for pedestrians (later on weekends) and 09:00 to 17:00 for skiers. Other lifts run from approximately 09:00 to 16:00 daily. Keep an eye on Live Lift Status for accurate times. All lift dates and times are subject to change due to adverse weather and events.

Is Chatel snow sure?
Chatel is located at only 1200m above sea level and almost all the skiing here and throughout the Portes du Soleil is below 2000m, and that’s not high enough to be snowsure.
Can you ski from Chatel to Avoriaz?
From Chatel the links to Avoriaz and Champery are excellent, but it’s a long trek to Les Gets and Morzine. There is a limited choice of independently operated ski chalets in Chatel and a handful of hotels and apartments. It shares an extensive local ski area with Les Gets which offers gentle slopes and wooded valleys.
Does Avoriaz have good apres?
Shooters. This large and popular bar has live music every day at après-ski time and later in in the evening too; it’s open till 2am. As the name implies, Shooters specialises in shots and has over 50 to choose from.
Does Morzine have good nightlife?
Morzine is very good for live music, especially in the winter. Many bars have aprés and late night sessions on the same day, so you have more chance of seeing the acts you like. Rhodos hosts an open mic night every Monday, and if you fancy having a go, they give you a free shot for being brave.
