(Ronan dreamed the forest into existence; it gave its life to save Gansey; but Gansey had already given his life to save Cabeswater and the world…from a demon that traveled to our world through Cabeswater?)

By the end of the novel, Ronan and Adam become partners in Cabeswater, working together to clear a cave in pursuit of Blue’s mother and demonstrating a closer relationship than ever.

Blue is the daughter of a psychic that lends her powers to the friend group in order to aid them in their search for Glendower. Blue is not a psychic herself, but she does have a curse. If she is to kiss her true love he will die. Because you already know Gansey dies I think you can see where this is going.

The story doesn’t end. It’s like the author couldn’t find a good stopping place but decided the book was getting too long. The last sentence in the book is supposed to be a cliffhanger for the next book, but without knowing what the other books are about, it makes no sense.

Blue’s curse: the profecy says that when she kisses her true love, he dies. That’s what happened, but because she kisses Gansey when he’s dying. If she had kissed him before that time, he wouldn’t have died, but they never kissed before because of the curse. Now they can kiss everytime.
