FEC is a combination of three chemotherapy drugs used to treat breast cancer. It takes its name from the initials of the drugs: 5 fluorouracil (also known as 5FU) epirubicin.
How is FEC administered?
Your nurse will give you 5FU, epirubicin (a red fluid) and cyclophosphamide as injections. They are given directly into your vein slowly, with a drip (infusion) to flush them through. Each drug should take 5 to 10 minutes.
