Can Square be used on any phone?
Compatible Android Devices. The Square contactless and chip reader works with most Android devices, as long as you’re running Google Android 4.0 or higher, have location services enabled, and have access to Google Play.
Is there a Square reader for Android?
The Square Point of Sale app is available on compatible Apple iOS and Android devices. At the moment, Windows, Blackberry, and Amazon Fire devices aren’t supported by Square.
How do I connect my phone to Square reader?
Turn on Bluetooth from your device settings For Android devices, navigate to Settings > Connections > toggle on Bluetooth. Bluetooth will automatically turn off when your reader is in a dock connected to a Square Stand by USB cable. Disconnect the USB cable from the Stand or dock and then attempt to pair.

Open Settings on your device. Visit your Apps section. Select the Draw over other apps menu, toggle the Permit Drawing Over Other Apps off for those apps.

Go to your device settings and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Open the Square app and tap More from the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen. Tap Settings > Hardware > Card Readers > “Connect a Reader.” Put your reader into pairing mode by pressing the reader’s button for 3-10 seconds.
