Entry to onsite parking for all matches is via Walters Road (off Dominion Road). Please note that the onsite parking areas may be closed prior to the end of the fixture for a period of up to one hour to allow the pedestrian traffic to clear.
Why is it called Eden Park?
Eden Park owes its name to George Eden, a blundering bachelor also known as the Earl of Auckland who is remembered mainly for “Auckland’s Folly”, a disastrous invasion of Afghanistan. Eden was born on Eden Farm in Kent in 1784 and as an adult served briefly as First Lord of the Admiralty.
What happened Eden Park?
The reservoir was removed in the early 1960s and the site redeveloped into the Mirror Lake reflecting pool and baseball fields. The former reservoir’s dam, Eden Park Station No. 7, and Eden Park Stand Pipe still stand as historical remnants.
