What is ENVE smart system?
The Smart ENVE System wheels are designed and tested inside frames from various bike brands to optimize the interface between the frame surfaces and the wheels, creating an integrated system that works well in conjunction with a bike, not just on their own in a wind tunnel.
Why is Enve so expensive?
In the video Enve claims that they produce a new mold 10 times more often than the rest, meaning maybe something like 100 rims before that mold is destroyed and a new one made, whereas the competition will produce 1000 rims with the same mold and this is a major reason for the expense.
Are Enve wheels worth it?
You will get better performance out of Enve rims than most other rims on the market (I personally think Derby’s rims perform better). But you will not get a dollar for dollar improvement over any other rim. But that is true of EVERY high end product.
What are the latest generation Enve wheels?
This is the first of ENVE’s latest generation wheels to hit the market, co-developed with aero guru Simon Smart. A lot of work has gone into making these suitable for all-round use, and we think Enve have nailed it. The set consists of a 60mm-deep front and 70mm rear built with 20 front and 24 rear Sapim CX Ray spokes on DT Swiss 240s hubs.
